Medical Illustration Podcast - Mesa Schumacher interview
Updated: Apr 11, 2022
First episode of 2022! My most recent guest on The Medical Illustration Podcast is Mesa Schumacher, a prolific medical and scientific illustrator and animator, as well as an entrepreneur and freelancer. Her work has appeared in National Geographic, Scientific American, Museums, Zoos and Aquariums, and popular and academic books and journals. Over the past year, Mesa has been embarking on Project Animalia: a daily practice of full-colour animal illustrations.
In this conversation, we talk about the daily art practice, working from home, social media, production tools for digital art, her archeology work, how she got her start in the industry, productivity and misperceptions in the field. Hope you enjoy this conversation!
